Laurent Verkoczy, PhD is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center and directs the Laboratory of B cell Immunoregulation at Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI). Verkoczy joined the DHVI in August 2005 after obtaining a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Toronto and completing a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of David Nemazee at The Scripps Research Institute. The overall focus of the laboratory of B cell immunoregulation is to identify viral and host determinants involved in controlling B cell responses required for generating “broadly neutralizing” antibodies (bnAbs) to the HIV-1 gp41 Membrane Proximal External Region (MPER).
