Dr. Staats is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology. He is interested in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved with the induction and regulation of mucosal immune responses as required for the development of effective mucosal vaccines. His lab has recently discovered that male and female mice have significantly different immune responses to different types of HIV vaccines.
